01 - 7 oz good-quality dark chocolate
02 - 7 oz good-quality white chocolate
→ Peppermint Topping
03 - 8 peppermint candy canes or 4 oz hard peppermint candies, crushed
04 - 1/2 tsp peppermint extract (optional)
→ Garnish
05 - 0.7 oz freeze-dried raspberries, crushed (optional)
06 - 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips (optional)
# Method:
01 - Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Melt dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in short microwave bursts, stirring until smooth.
03 - Pour dark chocolate onto the prepared sheet, spreading into a rough rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
04 - Refrigerate for 10 minutes until just set but not fully hardened.
05 - Melt white chocolate using the same method as dark chocolate; stir in peppermint extract if using.
06 - Pour melted white chocolate evenly over the chilled dark chocolate layer.
07 - Immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint candies and optional garnishes over the white chocolate, pressing lightly for adhesion.
08 - Refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes until fully set.
09 - Break or cut the bark into irregular shards.
10 - Arrange shards loosely on a wooden board for sharing.
